A 24-year-old model, identified as Vanshika Chopra, lost her life while she was walking the ramp during a fashion show in Noida’s Film City. A man was severely injured during the incident and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
A 24-year-old model died on the spot, while a young man was severely injured after a lighting truss (iron pillar) fell on top of them while they were walking the ramp during a fashion show in a studio located in Noida’s Film City area, the police said on Sunday.
Upon information, the police immediately reached the location and admitted the injured man to a nearby hospital.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Vanshika Chopra and the injured man, identified as Bobby Raj were participants of the fashion show, where the incident took place at around 1.30 pm, during the event.
The police questioned the organisers of the show and the person who installed the lighting truss. A case has been registered and the body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem, said the police.
The families of both the victims were informed, the police added.
Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) Shakti Awasthi said, “Vanshika Chopra died due to the falling truss during the fashion show in the studio of Film City. The panchnama of the dead body has been sent for postmortem. Further action is underway.”
