The working as a manager at IDFC bank, police said

In a chilling incident, a 35-year-old manager of a private bank lost her life at the hands of her boyfriend, who allegedly strangled her at a hotel in Navi Mumbai. The accused, identified as Shoeb Sheikh (24), was apprehended by the Mumbai Police in the early hours of the day from his residence in suburban Saki Naka just before he could attempt to escape to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh.

According to police reports, Sheikh and his girlfriend, Amy alias Amit Ravindra Kaur (35), had checked into a hotel in Navi Mumbai on Monday. The tragic turn of events unfolded as Sheikh harbored suspicions that Kaur was involved in an affair with another man. In a fit of rage, he allegedly strangled her to death.

The Mumbai Police received a crucial tip-off about Sheikh’s involvement in illegal activities, leading them to his residence in Sakinaka. During the subsequent interrogation, Sheikh confessed to the murder. The Mumbai Police promptly informed their counterparts in the Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai.

“A team of police in Turbhe rushed to the hotel where they found the woman’s body inside a room,” stated an official. The victim, employed as a manager at a branch of IDFC Bank in Navi Mumbai, resided in the Sion Koliwada area of Mumbai.

Shoeb Sheikh has been arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including section 302 (Punishment for murder), following the recovery of the victim’s body. The tragedy underscores the fragility of relationships and the devastating consequences of unchecked emotions. The community mourns the loss of a young life, and the legal proceedings will unfold as authorities work to bring justice to the victim, Amy Kaur.
