The murder case involving popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, co-star Pavithra Gowda, and their alleged involvement in the brutal killing of a 33-year-old man, Renuka Swamy, has stunned the public with chilling revelations.
According to police reports, Renuka Swamy was subjected to horrific torture, including beating with sticks, electric shocks, and severe injuries that led to his death from shock haemorrhage. His body, discovered in a drain in Bengaluru on June 9, was found with grievous injuries, including ruptured testicles and a missing ear, partly consumed by dogs.
Authorities have gathered crucial evidence, including bloodstain samples from the shed where the torture allegedly occurred, along with hair strands, clothes worn by the victim, and footwear belonging to Darshan and Pavithra on the day of the incident. CCTV footage from various locations has been collected, linking the actors to the crime scene and the disposal of the body.
Pavithra Gowda has been identified as the prime suspect in the case, which has sent shockwaves through the Kannada film industry. Allegedly, the actors attempted to cover up the crime by bribing individuals to falsely confess or take the blame. However, these efforts were thwarted when those involved in the cover-up ultimately confessed to their roles under police interrogation.
