Recent weather updates highlight significant rainfall in Gujarat and an ‘orange’ alert for Delhi due to expected heavy rain.

Gujarat Rainfall: Heavy rain persisted in Gujarat’s Kalyanpur taluka, with 174 mm recorded over 12 hours, according to PTI. The IMD issued a ‘red alert’ for several districts till June 2, forecasting extremely heavy showers in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka, and Kutch until July 3.

Delhi Alert: Delhi is under an ‘orange’ alert from July 2-3 with cloudy skies expected for the next week, and moderate to heavy rain anticipated on Tuesday and Wednesday. Skymet forecasts intensified rainfall starting July 2, following a brief respite.

Assam Floods: Over 6.44 lakh people across 19 districts are affected by floods, with the Brahmaputra river surpassing its danger mark in Jorhat district. Floodwaters have inundated several cities, prompting speed restrictions on NH 715 in Kalibor.

IMD Forecast: IMD predicts widespread rainfall in Northwest and Central India over the next five days, with isolated heavy thunderstorms likely. Regions including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive rainfall until July 5, with specific alerts for coastal Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
