Despite rising tensions between India and Pakistan, flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport remained largely undisturbed on Monday, offering relief to travelers. The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) issued a public update stating that while airport services are running smoothly, some delays may occur due to ongoing security measures and changing airspace protocols.

Travel Advisory:
Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight departures. On Sunday alone, nearly 100 flights were cancelled, mainly as a precautionary measure amid heightened military activities between the two nations.

The latest advisory comes just days after both countries agreed to a ceasefire, putting a halt to all land, air, and sea-based military operations, effective immediately. The temporary truce has helped stabilize operations in civilian areas, including major infrastructure hubs like airports.

Delhi Weather Update – May 12, 2025

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 24.4°C, which is one degree below normal for this time of year. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 39°C under a partly cloudy sky.
At 8:30 AM, humidity levels stood at 57%, while the Air Quality Index (AQI) was logged at 137, placing it in the moderate category.

Public Transport Challenges: A Gap in Bus Connectivity

A new study from the International Council on Clean Transport (ICCT) has revealed that over 31% of Delhi’s neighborhoods lack a public bus stop within a 500-meter radius. The issue is especially severe in densely populated settlements with narrow streets, making it difficult for standard buses to operate.

This data highlights a pressing gap in Delhi’s urban mobility framework, especially as more citizens turn to public transport due to rising fuel prices and sustainability concerns.
