New Delhi: Around 20 colleges in Delhi, including Jesus and Mary College, received bomb threats via email on Wednesday. Police and emergency teams immediately launched search operations. No explosives were found. Authorities suspect the sender used a VPN to hide their identity.

Hoax Threats Disrupt Schools

This incident follows a series of similar threats. Last week, over 100 schools in Delhi reported bomb threats. All were later confirmed as false alarms.

On August 21, multiple schools, including six in Dwarka Sector 5 and Prasad Nagar, were evacuated after receiving threatening emails. Police, fire services, bomb disposal squads, and dog squads conducted thorough searches but found no suspicious objects.

Previous Threats Raise Concern

On August 18, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka received a bomb threat. Authorities responded quickly, and no explosives were found.

Earlier incidents affected schools like Abhinav Public School (Rohini), Richmond Global School (Paschim Vihar), St Stephen’s College, and St Thomas School (Dwarka). On July 17, at least seven schools faced similar threats.

Authorities Warn Schools to Stay Alert

Although all recent threats were hoaxes, they disrupted academic activities and caused concern among students and parents.

In May, more than 200 schools, hospitals, colleges, and even Indira Gandhi International Airport received similar threats. Many cases are still under investigation, especially those linked to foreign VPNs.

Authorities urge all institutions to remain vigilant, report suspicious emails, and follow emergency protocols.
