New Delhi, Sep 11 (PTI): More than 200 passengers on an Air India flight to Singapore faced a six-hour delay at Delhi Airport after the airline deboarded them due to a technical fault.
The flight, AI2380, was scheduled to depart at 11 pm on Wednesday with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. After keeping travelers inside the aircraft for almost two hours, the crew asked everyone to exit because the air conditioning and power supply failed, according to eyewitness accounts.
Air India Explains the Delay
Air India confirmed that a cabin cooling issue caused the disruption. The airline:
- Shifted passengers back to the terminal.
- Served food and refreshments.
- Shared updates on the delay.
The airline also apologized to travelers for the trouble caused.
Flight Finally Departs
After replacing the aircraft, Air India flew AI2380 at 5:36 am on Thursday, nearly six hours late.
Passengers Share Experience
Several passengers posted videos on social media, showing travelers fanning themselves with newspapers and magazines inside the aircraft before deboarding. Many said the wait was exhausting and uncomfortable.
