Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit and urged member nations to respect sovereignty and stand firm against terrorism. He said India has faced terrorism for more than four decades and stressed that no double standards should apply in tackling it.

Referring to the recent Pahalgam attack, PM Modi said the incident showed terrorism is a challenge to all humanity. He called for a clear and collective stand against such violence. He also thanked the nations that supported India during the tragedy.

PM Modi added that security, peace, and stability are essential for development, but terrorism and extremism continue to threaten progress. He recalled India’s role in global efforts against terror groups and financing networks and noted the importance of cooperation in security.

PM Modi On Sovereignty

PM Modi reminded member nations that bypassing sovereignty weakens trust. His remark pointed indirectly at the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor that passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

He said India supports strong connectivity that encourages growth and trust. He cited projects like the Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor to show India’s commitment to improving links with Afghanistan and Central Asia.
