Investigators uncover Jaish-linked Doctor Module behind Delhi Red Fort blast and planned December 6 Babri revenge attacks. Investigators reveal that the Jaish-linked “Doctor Module” planned six coordinated blasts in Delhi-NCR on December 6 to avenge the Babri Masjid demolition.

Investigations into the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort have revealed a shocking terror plan. According to intelligence officials, a group of highly educated individuals, dubbed the “Doctor Module”, was allegedly plotting six coordinated blasts across Delhi-NCR on December 6, the anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition.

The Red Fort Blast

On Monday, a car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station killed nine people and injured over twenty others. The vehicle, reportedly driven by Dr. Umar Mohammed (alias Umar un-Nabi), a Kashmiri doctor from Al Falah University in Faridabad, detonated after a chase by security forces.
Following the blast, investigators discovered 2,900 kg of explosive materials, believed to be ammonium nitrate, during raids in Faridabad.

The “Doctor Module” and Its Links

Officials confirmed that Umar and two other doctors, Muzammil Sheikh and Shaheen Saeed, were allegedly part of a Jaish-e-Mohammed-linked terror module. The group reportedly operated under the guidance of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a Kashmir-based extremist outfit.

The investigation indicates that the group aimed to “avenge the Babri Masjid demolition.” During interrogation, members revealed a five-phase plan to execute serial bombings across Delhi and nearby regions.

Five-Phase Terror Plan

  1. Formation — Establishment of a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
  2. Procurement — Collection of raw materials and ammunition from Nuh and Gurugram in Haryana.
  3. Manufacture — Creation of chemical-based IEDs and reconnaissance of possible targets.
  4. Distribution — Allocation of explosives among module members after surveying sites.
  5. Execution — Coordinated bombings across six to seven key locations in Delhi-NCR.

Initially, the attacks were scheduled for August 2025, but were postponed due to “operational delays.” The terrorists later fixed December 6, a date symbolizing their revenge motive.

Historical Context

The Babri Masjid, a 16th-century mosque in Ayodhya, was demolished on December 6, 1992. The site, believed by many Hindus to be the birthplace of Lord Ram, later became the location for the Ram Temple, whose construction began in 2020 and concluded this year.
For years, Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar has threatened to avenge the demolition in his writings, often mentioning Ayodhya as a future target.

Investigators’ Findings

Authorities believe the group was stockpiling weapons and explosives for a massive coordinated strike in Delhi. Sources suggest that Dr. Umar panicked after learning that his associates were arrested. Acting out of fear, he allegedly triggered the car explosion prematurely near the Red Fort.

Officials are now probing possible links to foreign handlers and investigating whether more modules are active across the National Capital Region.
