Celebration of NDA victory in Bihar 2025 Assembly elections with political leaders addressing supporters NDA secures a decisive win in Bihar 2025; Rahul Gandhi calls the result surprising

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have delivered a resounding message as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crosses the critical majority mark, with projections indicating over 204 seats in the 243-member Assembly. This positions the NDA for a decisive victory, leaving the opposition Mahagathbandhan far behind.

NDA Makes a Strong Comeback

The BJP has won 87 seats so far and is leading in 2 more, while its ally, JD(U), has secured 78 seats and is ahead in 7 others. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has won 17 seats and is leading in 2 constituencies. This marks a strong showing for the NDA, signaling a potential landslide win and a major political comeback in the state.

Opposition Struggles

The opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD under Tejashwi Yadav, is trailing significantly. RJD has won only 2 seats so far, although it is ahead in 23 others, including Raghopur, where Tejashwi Yadav has secured a third consecutive victory after a tense moment early in the counting. The Congress has managed just 1 seat, while Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has failed to make a major impact. AIMIM, however, has emerged as a surprise player, leading in 6 constituencies in the Seemanchal region, drawing support primarily from Muslim voters.

NDA clinches a decisive win in Bihar 2025; Rahul Gandhi expresses surprise at the outcome

Reactions from Leaders

Rahul Gandhi described the outcome as “truly surprising,” acknowledging the support of Bihar’s voters for the Mahagathbandhan. In a post on X, he stated:

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to those millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan. This result is truly surprising. We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning. This fight is for the protection of the Constitution and democracy. The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will deeply review this result and make their efforts to save democracy even more effective.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked NDA workers at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, celebrating the alliance’s strong performance and reaffirming the party’s commitment to serving Bihar’s citizens.

Voting and Counting Process

The elections were conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, with voter turnout remaining high across the state. While exit polls had broadly predicted an edge for the NDA, the scale of its lead has surprised many political analysts and observers. Final results are expected by 7 PM today, after all rounds of counting conclude.

What This Means for Bihar

The current trends suggest a significant shift in Bihar’s political landscape. The NDA’s clear majority would allow it to form the government with relative ease, while the Mahagathbandhan faces the challenge of reassessing its strategy and rebuilding support for future elections. Analysts note that the emergence of AIMIM in Seemanchal could indicate shifting regional dynamics that may influence Bihar’s political equations in the coming years.

Stay tuned for live updates as the final results are declared.
