MUNNAR: A tragic accident claimed the lives of two students and left several others injured after a tourist bus overturned near Eco Point, Mattupetty, on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as natives of Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, the bus was carrying students from Scott Christian College, Nagercoil, on an excursion from Kanyakumari to Munnar when the incident occurred. The vehicle, with a total of 40 passengers, including three staff members, reportedly lost control while navigating a curve at high speed, causing it to overturn.
Emergency responders, including local police and fire safety officials, rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital in Munnar for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
